Santa Fe Stoneworks, Inc.

After working for IBM in the 60's, I left St. Louis understanding that the corporate world was not for me. I ended up in Santa Fe in early '72 and made jewelry for 5 years before selling that business to the IRS (They offered me a really good deal). I than wondered why I was making jewelry in a town where everyone was making jewelry. I decide to take the inlay process and work on non jewelry items. After several years of making inlaid box's, gearshift knobs, card holders I hit upon pocket knives. I then developed a men's gift line with jeweled handles. We just celebrated our 40th Anniversary and my children, Miles & Anna, now pretty much run the business. My Grandfather was a stone cutter in upper Bohemia, were the logo of the Stone Cutters Guild was called a "Wirtel". I proudly carry on that tradition.
